Job Description

We are looking for a summer intern to join us in a project focused on the modeling and simulation of CO2 plume migration during subsurface injection for carbon sequestration and storage. Collaborating closely with mentors, the candidate will contribute to the development of several essential aspects of the simulation workflow.

Responsibilities

As an Intern, you will be expected to:

1. Become familiar with Petrel and an analytical simulator.
2. Develop a workflow to extract geology data from Petrel into the simulator.
3. Design an algorithm to automatically tessellate the geology structures to ensure compatibility with the simulation computation.
4. Develop a workflow to transfer results from the simulator environment back into Petrel for visualization, interpretation, and analysis purposes.
5. Conduct thorough testing of the workflow across various scenarios to validate results.

We're seeking candidates who meet the following criteria:

1. Pursuing an MS or PhD in Reservoir Engineering, Geology, Geophysics, or a related STEM field, with strong programming components
2. Proficient in Python for data extraction and processing.
3. Familiar with Python scientific computation libraries such as Numpy, Scipy, Scikit-image, etc.
4. Preferred experience or coursework involving Petrel software.
5. Preferred experience in geological and reservoir modeling.
